Who we are…
We are Rastall & Daughters; Carol, Louise and Meryl along with latest arrival, baby Ava. You may have stopped by after visiting us at our previous home ‘The Original Pop Up Shop’. So what’s going on, we hear you ask?
The Past
We began life as a pop-up shop back in 2009, a simple idea to turn the family run ice-cream parlour into a Christmas shop during the colder winter months. Not just any Christmas shop mind, we wanted beautiful decorations that were either hand crafted, made locally, fair-trade or all of the above. Add a few dozen locally grown Christmas trees and festive wreaths, throw in some homemade mulled wine and mince pies and voila! The Original Pop Up Shop was born. We ventured online in 2011 and haven’t looked back since.
The Future
With the the arrival of Ava Grace in August 2014, we found the latest addition to the family signalled the time for a change in name that better captures our new direction.
Whilst we still love, and I mean love, Christmas we wanted to continue to grow and expand what we offer. An opportunity to collaborate with our favourite designers and makers, design and create more of our own products and, of course now we have a little one of our own to spoil, it seemed only natural to include a specially curated range for kids.
We still run the Ice Cream parlour in Newark, you’ll find Carol there most days during the Spring and Summer, scooping our locally made, natural ice-cream and making a mean latte or hot chocolate. You can even buy a few select items from the website there too. If you’re ever in Newark do stop by and say hello, we’d love to see you. Find us on the map below.
What We Do
We hope you find things amongst our collection that you love. We are proud to offer products that are both beautiful and unique, that add finishing touches to a special occasion or corner of your home. Keepsakes that are cherished and can be bought out year after year to help celebrate your own personal family traditions.
We take great care sourcing, selecting and making everything you find here. We’ve always loved to sew and create so you’ll find many of our products are handcrafted by ourselves in our little studio in Lincolnshire.
